3a Kunstprojekt: Klimt - Schiele - Kokoschka
Our most important art – project in the third grade was about Gustav Klimt, Egon Schiele and Oskar Kokoschka, three Austrian painters who lived in the 19/20 century. We had a class outing to the Belvedere, a famous art museum. We got into little groups and discovered the museum on our own. Each group got a piece of paper on which there were pictures. We were told to find these paintings, look at them attentivly and describe what we think and feel. We noticed, that the pictures of Egon Schiele are very dark and depressing. Later we heard, that they are like that, because sadly he had a hard and unhappy life. The paintings of Gustav Klimt often show flowers or trees, but he also drew naked people. Most oft he children wrote, that this is disgusting. Oskar Kokoschka drew animals and people. The different pictures were awesome. On some of them you are able to see every single line! Later we talked about the trip. It was amazing how differently we thought and reacted to some paintings. It was truly fascinating!
